Childcare During SIGMOD/PODS Conference
Some researchers, speakers and attendees can only attend conferences or other events if they can bring their children with them. This is why a childcare option will be available at the SIGMOD/PODS 2025 Conference, making an important contribution to the reconciliation of professional and family demands.
Guidelines for Providing Childcare
Due to a limited number of childcare spots, we ask all parents to inform us of their childcare requirements as early as possible. The need for childcare, as well as some details about the children to be cared for, such as age and the desired hours of childcare, can be provided during conference registration. You will receive a binding commitment for the requested childcare from us on 4th April 2025. Requests made after this date will be confirmed promptly if there are still spots available. In addition, we can support you in your search for alternative childcare options.
Childcare will be available during the core days of the conference, i.e. from the 23rd to the 26th of June. The cost of childcare is covered by the conference, except for a personal contribution of 30 euros per child per day. These costs are binding as soon as a childcare place has been confirmed. In addition, the parents sign a contract with the agency providing the childcare ( https://www.agentur-puenktchen.de ) before the childcare service can begin. The childminders speak German and English. Communication with parents will be in English.
The childcare service will be located in the Innovation Lounge on the Ground floor of the InterContinental Hotel Berlin, in direct proximity to the conference rooms.
Important Requirements
- The children should be at least 2 years old and used to group care.
- Only children who are potty-trained and can walk are accepted.
- Children must have parents registered at the SIGMOD/PODS Conference 2025.
- Parents must be available via SMS.
- The service does not include food, so please provide food that your children prefer in a bag labeled with your child's name.
- Childcare services are available only during the conference program at the InterContinental Hotel. This service is not available during receptions, night events, or the banquet.
