SIGMOD 2025 Poster Presentation Guidelines
Why present a poster?
Posters are an efficient means to share information about your work with others, and to find out what others are working on. But most importantly, they provide:
- A great way of making contacts, which is one of the major benefits of an in-person conference.
- A great source of in-person feedback, which can lead to interesting work in the future.
Every paper in the PODS and SIGMOD research tracks has a poster slot assigned, and authors are expected to present their work in the assigned poster session.
Which format?
All accepted research papers should be presented as a paper-poster. The poster size is DIN A0 (841 mm x 1189 mm) in portrait orientation (vertical). Please note that the poster panels cannot be rotated and must be used in the vertical orientation as per the dimensions given above.
You can install your poster using fixing material provided on-site at the poster help desk.
When will I present?
There will be three disjoint poster sessions during SIGMOD/PODS:
- Poster Session 1: June 24, 10:30–11:30
- Poster Session 2: June 25, 16:00–17:30
- Poster Session 3: June 26, 10:30–11:30
You can check which session your poster has been assigned to in the conference app or on the website, in the detailed view of the respective poster session under the Program Overview section.
We recommend that you install your poster at the beginning of your scheduled presentation day, preferably before the opening session of the day, which starts at 8:30 AM, and leave it up until the end of the day, so that conference participants can browse posters through all the coffee breaks. You are welcome to be present at your poster location during any of the coffee breaks if you wish to.
Your poster must be removed by 06:30 PM. If not removed by the author, the poster will be removed and disposed of by our staff.
Where will I present?
You will find the poster area in the rooms “Potsdam Foyer” and “Potsdam II”.
All poster stands will have a specific number, which you will also find in the conference app and on the conference website. Please refer to the Poster Index located near the registration desk or at the Help Desk in the poster session area. Use the poster placement map to find where to hang your poster. If you cannot locate your assigned spot, feel free to ask the helpers at the Poster Help Desk in the session room.
Additional tips for your presentation
You are welcome to carry the poster with you, but local printing is available. We recommend local printing companies near the conference venue:
- ReproBerlin GmbH, Digitaldruckerei & Copyshop
- Digital Printing Hall Copy-Repro-Center Berlin GmbH
Do you want to point people to even more information about your poster? We suggest you include a QR Code in your printed poster. You can generate QR codes using, for example, this site: https://www.the-qrcode-generator.com/
Information suggested:
- Title and all authors and institutions at the top of the poster
- Short introduction, purpose, methods, results, conclusions, and summary presented in a logical and clear sequence
- Explanation of the graphs, figures, and tables
- The text of the entire poster must be legible at one meter of distance
Be careful with the use of colors: some people have difficulty distinguishing green from red and other colors that do not present an adequate contrast between the text and the background of the poster.
